How the Association Operates

How Our Association Operates Many residents in our Association volunteer their time and energy to work on our behalf. The board of Directors is elected at our Annual General Meeting which is usually held in April or May. The Board is responsible for setting the budget, making major decisions affecting our Association, and overseeing the committees which look after specific areas such as the pool, parkland, tennis, rink, membership, and Neighbourhood Watch. Each household pays an annual fee which is used to cover the costs of programs and maintenance of parklands and facilities. The annual fee covers the entire fiscal year from January 1 to December 31st. However, because our expenses are minimal throughout the winter, and our budget is not until the AGM, annual fees are not due until July 1st. Each new member also pays an initiation fee which is put into a capital fund. If, in the future, you are planning to sell your home, it is important that potential buyers be made aware of both the annual fee AND the initiation fee. If you would like to see the bylaws of the Craigleith Homes Association, feel free to contact any member of the Board of Directors. (no original author given)
